about

I (Eric) never thought we'd ever put out a Pocket Vinyl live album. In my mind, the shows are one thing and the albums are another. They compliment each other, but are clear and separate in my mind.

I often sign flat notes and hit the wrong keys on my piano during shows. In a live setting, it's rare anyone notices (unless I'm REALLY off that night), but on a live album, they stick out quite a bit like black paint on a white canvas. But then again, that's the entire live experience! The high wire act of performing a song is never lost on me, and I like to keep it that way.

But then we played our 1000th show. It was one of the best nights of our career, and one of the most fun shows ever. We recorded it all, and sat on those tapes for a while, before realizing they'd be perfect to release on Nov. 18 2023, the one year anniversary of the show.

We selected our favorite performances from that night, as well as a bunch of banter and silliness, and stitched it together to make a perfectly flawed and lovely representation of that night. Hopefully the excitement, nervousness, joy, risk, and fun of it all comes through.

Enjoy this great, weird artifact from the past!
